Philosophy
01
Music as a Lifelong Partner
I believe music should be a lifelong companion, not merely a childhood activity. My teaching philosophy centres on nurturing genuine musical curiosity alongside technical proficiency, so that each student develops an independent and expressive voice at the piano.
02
Technique in Service of Music
Technical exercises are not ends in themselves — they are tools that liberate musical expression. I guide students to understand the purpose behind every scale, arpeggio, and exercise, connecting technical work directly to the music they love.
03
The Importance of Listening
A great pianist is first a great listener. I cultivate active listening skills from the earliest lessons, encouraging students to sing melodies, identify harmonies, and develop an inner musical ear that guides their fingers.
04
Performing with Confidence
Stage presence and performance confidence are skills that can be taught. Through regular mock performances, masterclasses, and recitals, students learn to channel nerves into energy and communicate music authentically to an audience.
